This annual award event was held on Saturday, April 20th, 2019 at the Pistis Event Center, Lekki with a well-attended audience.
The event lived up to expectation as 37 new beneficiaries were awarded financial seed grants. Giving a welcome speech at the conference, Mrs Odumakinde demanded accountability from the women and thanked her family and friends for supporting this vision these three years.
The keynote speaker for the day was by Ms. Arinola Adeniyi; Managing Director, Venivici Health Club & Urban who spoke on the theme: “The Balanced Business Woman”. She emphasized on the absolute need of work-life integration in ensuring one’s success and wellbeing as a business woman.
In recognition of the unique needs of women and a call for balance in the areas of business, spirituality, leadership, wellness, success, compliance, the workplace, home & lifestyle, a panel discussion was held by 8 seasoned and career women, including the Visioneer, Mrs. Odumakinde. The panel was moderated by OAP, Mrs. Amaka Chibuzor-Obi.
The day was spiced with lots of comedy, raffle draws, praise and worship, presentations by the Ijamido Children’s Home, Ota and presentation of gifts to various personalities and organizations present. At the end of the conference, participants had a shift in perspectives and were encouraged to break through mental and emotional limitations.
Mrs. Funmilola Peters, CEO of Funpee Products & Services also emerged as the 2019 YEO Entrepreneur of the Year. Mrs. Yinka Odumakinde, the founder of YEO Foundation did the presentation and decoration at the third edition of the Women Empowerment & Entrepreneurship Programme, together with Mrs. Tehila Kadiri, winner in 2018 edition.
This award is designed to recognize and celebrate YEO Beneficiaries who have made outstanding achievements during the period under consideration and the exceptional efforts of beneficiaries who have demonstrated leadership, diligence, commitment and accountability in their business endeavours.
Mrs Funmilola was presented with the star prize of two hundred thousand naira.
