As part of the Women Entrepreneurship and Empowerment Program (W.E.E.P), YEO Foundation has provided opportunities to a cohort of female entrepreneurs who have launched businesses spanning fashion, retail, agriculture, and manufacturing sectors.
Miss Omodolapo Rahman is a native of Ogun State and the Chief Responsibility Officer of “You Adire”, an indigenous textile outfit built to sustain and preserve the Nigerian culture. Dolapo, a graduate of Mass Communication from Bowen University, has judiciously used the seed money from YEO Foundation to scale up her business, which she started three years ago with N20,000 from her personal savings.
You Adire has contributed to the impact of indigenous initiatives in Adire as her wears are now being worn in schools as Friday wears. “Groups and clubs wear it for their events, ushers make use of it at events, people now feel classy rocking their Adire hair fascinator, handbag, ipad jackets and more. More so, she now gains patronage from sister businesses such as interior decorators, furniture making companies and more.”
She has received both local and global recognition for her works.
